Colour coded bins for recycling

Does anyone else find it confusing that the green bin is the general household waste one whilst the blue bin is for paper and so on?

Or does it vary throughout the country as to what colour is for which type.

That may sound funny but the thing I find most confusing about recycling in Britain is that my green bin the colour I associate with recycling is for the landfill dump rubbish whilst the blue bin is for paper.

We also have a bottle type bin which is very good as it saves having to go to the bottle bank so makes it a lot easier - apart from the huge clunks at 6am when they collect in on a Friday morning!
