Water usage in the home

I always think that wasting water is one of the worst things that people do in and around the home.

Whilst it might sound a bit horrible one of the easiest ways to save on water in the home is actually to flush the toilet less.

The fact is that when you are not having a number two you don't need to flush the toilet everytime you use it at all, so if you just move to flushing it every other time then you will save a huge number of litres of water and that's good for the environment too and saves on your water bill if you are metered so both win.

This is a good idea.

I think we are all used to using as much water as we want without really thinking about the financial impact of that and the cost to the environment.

Certainly having a water meter is a great way to promote to people that they should think about how much water they use, and if they do that then they should save money by having a water meter fitted too!

For those that are interested in a water meter, many of the water companies will now come and fit this for you for free.

Infact to make it really easy there is an online form that you can fill in for many water company suppliers, so this means you don't even have the hassle of sitting on the phoneline for ages instead and can simply do it from the convenience of the home with a few mouseclicks and an account number or two
