Co-operative Greenpeace Charity Credit Card

Card name: Co-operative Greenpeace Charity Credit Card

Issued by:Co-operative

When it comes to green credit cards, so-called, many people naturally think of the Co-Operative. The co-operative have a range of charity credit cards, the most well known is probably the Greenpeace card.

Infact, this card comes in three different flavours, and are respectively called the Greenpeace Standard, the Greenpeace Advantage Platinum, and finally the Greenpeace Fixed Rate Platinum, which is a bit of a mouthful.

With this credit card, it is clear that Greenpeace are a beneficiary to some extent, but what exactly happens with this credit card?

Well, if you support Greenpeace it is good news because every account that you open results in £15 being given straight to Greenpeace.

Then if you use your account within six months, they get another £2.50. For every £100 you spend, they get another 25pence, or for every balance of £100 you transfer to the card.

There are also some perks for you the cardholder, for instance 5% discount on some holidays that you purchase through the card; the plastuc that is used to make the card is also said to be more environmentally friendly than the plastic that is used to make up most credit cards.

In terms of the three different cards, the interest rates on these vary as do the terms on things like balance transfer, how long you get interest free credit on your balance, minimum credit limit and so on, so you'll need to view their website for full details if you are interested in applying for one of these cards. Note that there are more stringent restrictions for some than others - e.g. for the greenpeace standard you need to earn at least £10,000 whilst for the advantage platinum that comes right up to a minimum of £25,000 or more.
