Light Emitting Diodes are very efficient in that the light they produce has much less wastage and heat, and this means that they are very energy efficient.Indeed compared to a standard form of lighting they use only a tiny fraction of energy.
Yet we don't see them everywhere, so why is this? Basically it is for aesthetic reasons: people don't like the quality of light that they give out as it tends to be quite cool.
However new processes are developing an interesting screen that will warm up the light emitted from certain LEDs and this will means that global energy bills could be slashed if this technology is taken up by everyone.
