How Microwaves Will Save Industry Energy

We all love microwaves, as they have made it so convenient to cook certain items in the home and indeed reheat them. We don't even need to know how the mysterious box works - just put food in, press the on button, and come back to nice warm food.

However, there are other possible applications for microwaves, specifically in industry.

It turns out that using microwaves to heat many chemicals that are used on a daily basis in all sorts of industrial processes could save a lot of energy, and the figure has even been suggested of up to around 80 - 90% of energy saving.

Given how much energy is used in industry to heat chemicals to drive various reactions that take place, this could be a very significant saving of energy.
